AI Platform for Early Cancer Detection – Genesis Medical

When Artificial Intelligence Enhances Medical Intuition – Delivering 97% Accuracy in a Clinical Trial

Lung cancer is one of the most prevalent and deadliest forms of cancer, largely because it is often diagnosed at advanced stages, when the chances of recovery are significantly lower. In recent years, the use of artificial intelligence in early diagnostic processes has increased, with the goal of identifying suspicious findings at earlier stages and reducing the heavy workload placed on radiologists interpreting imaging studies.

Genesis Medical set out to transform the way artificial intelligence is integrated into the clinical workflow. Rather than relying solely on statistical models, the company developed a unique technology that simulates human medical reasoning and intuition—translating them into an intelligent algorithm that supports clinical decision-making in real time.

This technology, IIMM (Intuitive Imitation Mathematical Modelling), is the foundation of the company’s first product, G4Lungs—an advanced system for the early detection of lung cancer. The system presents diagnostic insights directly on CT scans, integrates seamlessly into radiologists’ workflows, and enables particularly early identification of suspicious findings with a high level of accuracy and reliability.

To transform its technological innovation into a fully mature clinical product, Genesis Medical partnered with Matrix Medika, a company specializing in the development of complex healthcare systems and medical imaging solutions. Matrix Medika supported the project end to end—from software development and AI algorithm implementation, through compliance with medical regulations and standards (FDA, CE), implementation of information security in accordance with HIPAA and GDPR, and integration with PACS and RIS systems, to the development of a secure medical user interface.

The development of G4Lungs was evaluated in a clinical trial conducted in collaboration with Assuta Medical Centers, Israel’s largest provider of medical imaging services. The trial results were particularly impressive: 97% accuracy in lung cancer detection, alongside an exceptionally low false-positive rate of just 0.2 per case. These findings demonstrated the system’s significant clinical potential and its ability to function as a reliable decision-support tool in the daily work of radiologists.

Following the successful trial, G4Lungs was integrated into a commercial pilot as part of a strategic project with iDNA, deployed across 11 countries in the European Union and the United Kingdom. In parallel, an advanced clinical trial is underway at MGH in Boston, along with a large-scale project with Rayus Radiology, one of the largest imaging providers in the United States. In Israel, the approval process with the Ministry of Health is progressing, alongside regulatory procedures with the FDA.

As part of its long-term vision, Genesis Medical has already begun developing an additional product for the early detection of prostate cancer, aimed at reducing unnecessary biopsies and expanding the platform into a comprehensive AI solution for the early diagnosis of multiple cancer types.
